Our Apologies but the Apocalypse has been Cancelled due to a Lack of Interest: A Dream

Hi there Reader.

I was in a room with 3 other people… in a house, I think. One of the other people was my mother. Only she was very thin, her skin grey-yellow and drawn over her bones. She looked dreadfully sick.

She urged me to look out of the window, so I walked towards this full-length window that faced a beach. From there I had a remarkable view of the landscape and the sea that seemed only a couple of dozen feet away.

The waves were crashing up against the sandy beach with unnatural ferocity, yet the waves weren’t running headlong up the beach; instead the waves were running parallel along the beach. And then the waves began to take on recognisable forms.

A series of large dragons (not unlike the undulating, stereotyped image of the Loch Ness Monster, only with a more Oriental dragon’s head) formed in the waves; this was followed then by a series of enormous locusts.

I was now standing on the beach, feeling the power of the sea, of the waves; exhilarated by it, yet feeling some dread, too. A man was then standing to one side of me, with long flowing black hair and very intense eyes, and a voice smooth yet deep and strong.

“This is a sign.” He said.

“Locusts… Dragons,” I muttered, thinking deeply to myself.

“Signs of the coming Apocalypse,” he told me.

“Oh great,” I cried sarcastically. “Just when I’m starting to get my shit together, you have to go have your Goddamn Apocalypse… thanks a lot…”

… And that’s the point at which I woke up. Hehehehe
