Monday, Jan. 05, 2004 - 19:54 Local Celebs & Giant Worms: Dreams I over slept this morning, despite being in bed by a reasonable hour. I only slept for an hour and a ½ before waking from a bizarre dream in which Millie Minogue (local drag icon) and Miss Vic featured. It was bizarre in as much as Millie and Miss Vic were before an open fire place; Millie was seated in a Victorian England, big backed comfy looking chair, while Miss Vic was standing in front of her, slightly to one side. Both of them were clearly off their guts on drugs… I approached them cautiously, and coming up beside Millie I said to her how I had dreamed of her a few nights ago (and this is in actual fact true – had a wacky little dream about her on Thursday night). I was trying to share the details with both her and Miss Vic, but they were ignoring me. This seemed to be partly due to being well and truly chopped on drugs, and partly because they were more interested in talking about Mark (the guy who used to be the door bitch before me, and Lochy’s former boyfriend).
“Oh, yeah,” Miss Vic responded, as her eyes grew large. “Poor thing! It’s just terrible,” she said. As they didn’t seem interested in hearing about the dream I’d had about Millie, I then asked: “What’s happened to him?” But again they ignored me… and then I woke up. It was around 6am before I feel asleep again, and then my alarm sounded at 8.15am. I awoke, turned it off, and laid in my bed feeling less than inspired… I must have drifted off to sleep again, because I then woke up at 10.15am from another weird dream. This time it was set on a coastal area… a small town or village, built high on the cliffs, overlooking a bay and the sea, which was farther out. The land was lush and green and filled with fields. Throughout the dream, my perspective would change; some times I was on the ground, as if one of the characters within the setting; at others, I was way overhead, in the sky, observing the action. And the action centered around a fearsome creature that lived off the coastline. It dwelt within the sea, and it was as long as your average passenger train (i.e., a dozen or so carriages, plus the engine). It had a head similar to a shark, and its mouth was filled with row upon row of shark-like teeth. But this monster wasn’t confined to the ocean. It could leap into the sky, like a giant eel, and then it would dive onto the poor, unsuspecting folk tending to their fields, or going about the village, scooping them up in its fanged jaws. It would then borrow down into the ground, like a mammoth worm, and then tunnel through rock and earth, breaking through the side of the cliff and disappearing back into the sea… The creature attacked several times, and in one instance, it almost got me… I remember looking up, seeing it approach from the sky, it’s huge, horrible mouth extended wide…. And then I woke up…
