Thorpedo Dreaming...

Hello gentle Reader.

I had a weird dream this morning. I only remember a small bit, but Ian Thorpe, the Australian swimmer known as ‘The Thorpedo’, was in it, as was Simon’s ex-and-friend, Dickie. Dickie was standing before me, hands on hips, saying some truly awful things to me… along the lines of ”Simon should’ve got it right… he shoulda’ made sure you were dead…”, crap of that nature.

Ian Thorpe was sitting looking at Dickie with a frown on his face. Then he looked at me and said:

“Don’t listen to him, Jay. He’s a twisted, mean soul, filled with spite and hate, just like Simon. Let it all go, Jay… there’s no need to be afraid any more,” he said and then smiled at me.

I think I offered up some kind of objection, but Ian Thorpe interrupted and went into some long monologue I now no longer recall. The only memory I carry of it is that it was very kind, gracious and positive.

It was a strange dream. But somewhat pleasant. Though surprising to have Ian Thorpe appear in it. It’s not as if I’ve had any particular interest in him on any level – though acknowledge his achievements as a marvelous athlete, and as a person, he seems very decent, with considerable integrity.

Anyway… there you go… dreams: weird.
